Magazines

I found some magazines and decided to take some clippings and make them my own by adjusting and manipulating them to my advantage. I wanted to point out the important words in each to make the viewer think twice about what they are actually passing by and just glancing at. Here are just a few! I also made a mask covered in tiny individual mosaic like mirrors. I wanted it to look like when you hold the mask up to your face, whoever is looking at you see themselves, and not the real person behind the mask.

Photography

Here are some of my home photography images, gotta wait to book the studio with Martin to get these done correctly. I was just adding different materials each time and experimenting to see what I could come up with.

I Love Lim, Limerick Leader Project

So we were given a brief by the Limerick Leader to basically take an image from their folder of photographs and give them our reflection of the original image. I chose a photo of two rugby teams battling it out for the precious rugby ball. In response, I decided I wanted to bring Munster rugby into my photograph. It would be a sin not to!! So my photograph is the legendary Limerick man, Paul O' Connell, mid line out catching the rugby ball whilst him loyal team mates support him. Of course the match had to be in Limericks leading rugby stadium, Thomand Park. Where could I go wrong? So here is the original in black and white, and my response in colour underneath.
